Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, born September 29, 1994, professionally known as Halsey, is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Recognized for her distinctive vocal style, she has earned multiple awards, including three Billboard Music Awards, a Billboard Women in Music honor, and an American Music Award, along with three Grammy nominations. In 2020, Time included her on its annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
Before fame
She started her music career in 2012 by releasing a parody of Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” titled “The Haylor Song (Trouble Parody).”
Trivia
They received a Billboard Women in Music Rising Star award in 2016. The next year brought her first two Grammy nominations. Her single “Without Me” won the American Music Award for Favorite Pop/Rock Song in 2019. They use both “she” and “they” pronouns.
Family life
Her parents are Nicole and Chris Frangipane, and she has two younger brothers, Sevian and Dante. She had an on-and-off relationship with music producer Lido, and dated rapper G-Eazy from 2017 until late 2018.
In 2019 she dated Yungblud, then was in a relationship with Evan Peters that ended in 2020. On July 14, 2021, they welcomed their first child, Ender Ridley, with boyfriend Alev Aydin; the couple separated in April 2023. In September 2023 she began dating Avan Jogia, and the pair announced their engagement in September 2024.
