Ariel Winter Workman, born January 28, 1998, is an American actress. She rose to prominence in the 2010s for portraying the intelligent, bookish Alex Dunphy on the ABC sitcom Modern Family (2009–2020). For their work on the series, she and several cast members won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series four years in a row (2010–2013).

She made her first television appearance at age six in a Cool Whip commercial.

Her siblings, Shanelle Workman and Jimmy Workman, are also actors. She owns two dogs, Casper and Rocco. In 2016 she began dating actor Levi Meaden; they split in 2019. She previously dated Laurent Gaudette, and she started a relationship with Luke Benward in 2020.
