Charles Otto Puth Jr., professionally known as Charlie Puth, is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and record producer. He first caught the public’s eye with his song covers that went viral on YouTube. In 2011, after appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, he signed with her record label, eleveneleven.

Charlie first gained notice through his YouTube channel, CharliesVlogs, where he shared fun vlogs, covers, and his own original tracks. He kicked it off back in December 2009.

Ellen DeGeneres signed him to her eleveneleven label in October 2011 after spotting his duet cover of Adele’s “Someone Like You” with Emily Luther. He ended up performing on her show twice before eventually parting ways with the label.

Hailing from New Jersey, Charlie attended Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship. He’s got a brother named Stephen and a sister named Mikaela; his parents are Charles and Debra Puth. On the dating front, he had a short romance with actress Halston Sage in 2018, followed by one with Charlotte Lawrence in 2019. Things got serious with Brooke Sansone starting in December 2022, he proposed in September 2023, they tied the knot in September 2024, and in October 2025, they shared the exciting news that they’re expecting their first child.
