Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, born February 19, 1998, better known as Chappell Roan, is an American singer-songwriter famous for her bold, campy style inspired by drag queens. She dropped her debut EP, School Nights, on Atlantic Records in 2017. After struggling for years and getting dropped by the label in 2020, she bounced back with her critically loved debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess (2023) via Island Records. It built a huge cult fanbase and turned into a sleeper hit.

Born Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, she kicked off her music career at just 17 with her track “Die Young.”

Her skyrocketing fame has her @chappellroan Instagram boasting 7 million followers. She released the catchy “Red Wine Supernova” in 2023 and made a surprise onstage cameo at Olivia Rodrigo’s concert in August 2024.
Family life
She chose her stage name to honor her late grandfather, Dennis K. Chappell.
